Movie List

Eight Below -- PG

This Disney remake of a Japanese drama about a dog sleigh team in the Antarctic, is the Bambi of the New Millennium. Paul Walker stars as a young man leading dog sleigh teams on search and rescue missions in the vast wilderness of the Antarctic who has to leave his team behind after a mission. Before he can return for his dogs, a snow storm comes up that blocks his getting back to them. For six months, the dogs are on their own. This movie provides suspense, tears and cheers for the entire family.

88 Minutes -- R

All you need say is Al Pacino.  This movie stars him as a forensic pathologist that testifies in cases of serial killers.  When one of his more recent cases of conviction is due to be executed, he receives a phone call that tells him he has 88 minutes left to live.  He has to either catch the caller or face impending death.  Sadistic violence, so movie isn't for children; but, Al Pacino fans will like this movie.

Elektra --PG-13

Jennifer Garner is outstanding in this role as the woman fighter from Daredevil. Even though she died at the end of that movie, they have a "comic book" logical manner in which she is brought back to life for this movie. The action is great, the special effects are outstanding and the villains all die in green puffs of smoke, so little kids know it’s a comic book death. The action violence is the reason for the 13 of the PG-13, but kidsd know it’s a movie.

Elf -- PG

A true PG movie about a human raised by elves at the North Pole. I enjoyed watching the kids enjoy this movie.

Elizabethtown – PG-13

A romantic comedy about a young man (Orlando Bloom) who travels to Kentucky to bring his deceased father’s ashes to Ohio. He meets a flight attendant (Kirsten Dunst) who convinces him to learn about himself while he travels. Fun movie.

Ella Enchanted -- PG

A fascinating retelling of the Cinderella story, with a very amusing twist. Visually, kids will love it. Script-wise, adults will enjoy it. A family film that actually is for the entire family.

Employee of the Month -- PG-13

Let me say upfront, Jessica Simpson is better in this role than she was in Dukes of Hazard. Now that we got that out of the way, the movie is actually better than you would think. The characters are funny and they get you to like them, but Harland Williams steals the movie.

Enchanted - - PG

Extremely fun movie that adults and children will love. It starts of animated until the
heroine (Amy Adams) gets pushed into a wishing well that ends up in a real world sewer
in Manhattan.

Envy -- PG-13

Jack Black and Ben Stiller are neighbors. Jack Black invents a product that makes him a multi-millionaire. He offered Ben Stiller the opportunity to invest at the beginning (Ben refused), but when Jack gets richm he remains in the neighborhood. That just infuriates Ben. Enter Christopher Walken, who advises Ben on how to get revenge. Violence and language are the reason for the 13 of the PG-13.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind -- R

Jim Carey is hurt and surprised when he finds out his girlfriend (Kate Winslet) has had her memories of their up and down relationship erased from her mind. Deperate, he asks her doctor tp dp the same for him. As the memories are being erased, however -- and there's always a however in life -- he realizes that even with the hurt, he wants to remember her. Language and sexual situations and brief nudity gives this movie an R rating.

Eragon – PG

It is difficult to believe that a 15 year old boy wrote this "dragon-slayer" style movie. It is even more difficult to believe they are letting him write two more that are being made into an Eragon trilogy. Believable or not, that is what happened, and the movie is a pretty good family film.

Eurotrip -- R

Four high school graduates go to Europe in search of the ultimate adventure and sex romp. One of them is a girl, the fraternal twin of one of the guys, and she never gets the respect of the guys for being a girl until.... Title should be Eurotrash! Sexual situations, nudity , drug usuage and vulgar language is the reason for the R rating.

Evan Almighty -- PG

This movie is the sequel to Bruce Almighty, but without Jim Carey. This movie stars Steve Carell, who runs for political office after he leaves television news. He tries to make a difference in peoples lives as a politician, so God (Morgan Freeman) gives him the opportunity to build an ark, load it with two of all types of creatures and wait for the next flood. Funny for 13 and below, but not entertaining enough for anyone older.

Everything is Illuminated – PG-13

A young man (Elijah Woods) goes to the Ukraine to learn about how his grandfather, whom he resembles, escaped the Holocaust. While there, he encounters a guide who helps him find the people he needs to meet.

The Ex -- PG-13

Zach Braff is forced to get a job with his father-in-law's (played by Charles Grodin) ad agency when his wife is pregnant and must give up her high paying job. At the agency, he must work with, and compete against her ex-boyfriend, Jason Bateman. Worth seeing.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose – PG-13

A priest is put on trail after a college student dies during an exorcism. Loosely based on a true story about events that occurred in Germany in 1995, this movie takes on a court room atmosphere.. Being a PG-13 film, the "scary" horror isn’t there, but it does make you deal with superstition versus faith.
